Her thesis reflected on the subversive character of relationships in the dystopian film "THX 1138" by George Lucas. Christin then studied ethics of textual cultures in a master's program at Augsburg and wrote her thesis on empathy as a theoretical framework for reading and the workings of fiction.
During her years as a graduate student in the joint German and Comparative Literature program, Christin has worked on Blackness in German studies, as well as systemic racism in geopolitical decisions surrounding the St. Louis area. Since 2016, she has developed interest in curricular innovation and pedagogical methodologies.
Her latest project reflects on the suppressed meanings and implications of the German word "Ausländer," and how words contribute to systemic beliefs of white supremacy.
