Rebecca Copeland receives Independent Press Award 2022

Rebecca Copeland's novel "The Kimono Tattoo" wins the Independent Press Award 2022 in the multi-cultural fiction category.

“The Kimono Tattoo,” is a mystery novel set in Kyoto that transports readers to famous temples, little-known alleys and even its zoo. The novel’s American protagonist, a failed academic working as a translator in Japan, is frustrated with her work and haunted by her past when she is given the offer to translate a new novel by a long-forgotten writer.

The Independent Press Award competition is judged by experts from different aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. Selected IPA Winners and Distinguished Favorites are based on overall excellence.
